Job Description Registered Veterinary Technician (LVT) – Livewell Animal Hospital, Chevy Chase, MD Are you an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician with 1–2 years of experience looking to work in a positive, supportive, and collaborative environment? Livewell Animal Hospital – Chevy Chase is seeking an LVT to join our close‑knit and dedicated team! What We Offer 4‑day work week with rotating Saturdays (clinic closed Wednesdays and Sundays) Exposure to a variety of cases – wellness, urgent care, soft tissue surgery, dental (digital X‑rays), ultrasound, radiology, exotics EZYVet software and in‑house IDEXX lab Fear‑Free Certified Team – certification support if not already certified Emphasis on technician utilization – dental charting, scaling, polishing, digital radiographs Compensation $28–$35 per hour Responsibilities Professional client communication and education: obtain medical histories and symptom information Laboratory procedures: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, fecal analysis Diagnostic imaging and safety protocol implementation for fellow staff Nursing skills: restraining patients, administering medications (PO/IV/SUBQ/IM), applying bandages, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring Proficient dental prophylaxis Qualifications Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) and ability to transfer credentials across states Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience in a small animal hospital (no new grads) Interest in exotic veterinary medicine preferred Passion for patient care, teamwork, low‑stress handling Bonus: experience with exotics or dental radiography If you want to be part of a team that values kindness, communication, and continuous learning, we’d love to meet you.
