Microsoft AI / 365 Consultant (Copilot Studio, Purview, Entra ID)

The client is seeking an experienced consultant to support ongoing enterprise initiatives related to Microsoft AI tools, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Chat, Copilot Studio, AI Foundry and emerging AI capabilities.

NOTE: This position is fully Remote.

Role Summary:
The consultant will provide hands-on technical and functional support across the Microsoft AI ecosystem, with a focus on governance, security, and enterprise enablement.

Responsibilities will include participation in technical and security evaluations of AI capabilities, as well as testing and validating the impact of enterprise controls on both new and existing AI tools.

The role requires a balance of deep technical expertise, analytical rigor, and strong communication skills to work effectively across IT, security, risk, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Microsoft AI Tools Configuration & Access Management
? Configure and manage tenant-level settings for:
? Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Chat, and related AI capabilities
? Enable or restrict functionality based on enterprise risk, compliance, and business requirements
? Support licensing, access controls, and feature rollout strategies

Technical & Security Review of AI Capabilities
? Participate in the evaluation of new and existing Microsoft AI features and tools
? Assess technical architecture, data flows, and security implications
? Partner with security and risk teams to identify potential exposure or control gaps
? Provide input into approval, enablement, or restriction decisions for AI capabilities

Control Validation & Testing
? Test and validate the effectiveness of enterprise controls (e.g., Purview policies, DLP, access controls)
? Assess how controls impact AI tool behavior, outputs, and data access
? Identify unintended consequences, gaps, or degradation in user experience
? Support refinement of control configurations based on testing outcomes

AI Innovation Monitoring & Internal Enablement
? Track Microsoft updates, releases, and roadmap changes related to AI tools
? Evaluate relevance and impact of new capabilities for the organization
? Communicate updates to stakeholders clearly and concisely
? Develop and maintain:
? Internal documentation
? Training materials and usage guidance
? Present new features and practical use cases to cross-functional teams

Data Security Posture Management (DSPM)
? Support implementation and ongoing operation of Microsoft Purview capabilities
? Assist with:
? Data discovery and classification
? Sensitivity labeling and data protection controls
? Policy alignment for AI-enabled scenarios
? Ensure data governance controls are effectively integrated with AI usage

Administrative Operations & Governance Support
? Perform administrative activities within Microsoft security and compliance tools
? Monitor AI usage and support enforcement of governance policies
? Assist in defining and refining:
? Governance processes
? Roles and responsibilities
? Operating procedures for AI tools
? Maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation of changes, decisions, and configurations.
? Partner with security and infrastructure teams to assess risk and minimize operational impact.
? Ensure production changes align with CAB approvals and established deployment windows.
? Monitor post-change outcomes and drive remediation for failed or high-risk changes.

AI Access Request & Intake Process Support
? Support definition and execution of processes for:
? Requesting access to AI tools and capabilities
? Reviewing and approving requests
? Track adoption and ensure alignment with governance policies

Required Qualifications:
? Hands-on experience with:
? Admin configuration of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and related AI capabilities
? Admin configuration of Microsoft Purview and data security posture management concepts
? Microsoft Entra ID, compliance, and security controls

Demonstrated experience with:
? Technical security reviews and control validation/testing
? Data governance, DLP, and information protection
? AI governance and risk management concepts

? Experience in regulated environments (financial services or insurance preferred)
? Strong ability to translate technical concepts into clear communication for stakeholders
