Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist will assist in surgical procedures under the supervision of a professional nurse. This role entails preparation and maintenance of the sterile field, instrument handling, and providing necessary supplies for various complex surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Scrub in on surgical procedures, anticipating the surgeon's preferences for materials and instruments.
• Set up sterile tables with necessary instruments, equipment, and medications for surgical procedures.
• Monitor and assure the sterility of instruments and materials used during surgeries.
• Inventory and monitor supplies, ordering as needed to maintain operational readiness.
• Develop and implement educational materials and programs for continuous improvement.
• Participate in committees and provide input on policies and patient care standards.
• Be available for backup call for emergency cases requiring additional surgical support.

Schedule

This position requires a day shift from Tuesday to Friday with 10-hour shifts and on-call/call-back requirements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program accredited by a recognized agency.
• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) is mandatory.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• A minimum of 1 year of surgical technology experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, surgical instruments, and sterile technique is essential.
