Supported Employment Specialist – Full TimeThe Supported Employment Specialist assists members with finding gainful competitive employment or volunteer opportunities in the community.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain total confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA law, CARF accreditation standards and Maryland State Regulations.Using electronic medical records, input data and following through seeing services to their completion.Develop employment opportunities for members through direct solicitation of employers for individual positions.Complete vocational intake and orientation to newly recruited members. Assess readiness and employment skills; provide training for employment.Serve as a liaison to the business community and helping agencies; advocate for people recovering from severe mental illness as employees.Maintain awareness of advances in the vocational field.Attend all staff meetings and in-house trainings as requested.Keep records, provide reports, and maintain data as required by the Division of Rehabilitation Services, Mental Health Administration, or other regulatory agencies.Other duties as assigned by the Vocational Director.QualificationsPersonal stability, flexibility, energy, and commitment to working with people recovering from severe mental illness.Current CPR and First Aid;Full valid driver's license with a safe driving record.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.High School diploma and 2 years' experience working with mentally ill adults. Supported employment experience required.Familiarity with the psychosocial and vocational rehabilitation process.Position reports to the Supported Employment Director, who will approve schedules and provide supervision.Regular, full-time position, non-exempt from overtime
