Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Medical/Surgical - Days

$15,000 sign-on bonus eligibility

Schedule: 3 -12-hour shifts

7A-7P

Hourly Range: $22.20 - $28.68 per hour

Acute care medical-surgical unit


24-bed unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio


1:10 CA-to-nurse ratio


Diverse patient population including medical, surgical, testing, and observation patients


Common comorbidities: diabetes, hypertension, stroke, renal, and psychiatric conditions

How you'll contribute

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excels in this role:

• Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

What we're looking for

Applicants must have an active Virginia LPN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Graduate of a practical school of nursing required.


Additional requirements include:

• AHA BLS certification required.
