Job Purpose

The position is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating Business Banking commercial loans. It is a first-level credit analyst position and will require being proficient with Business Banking commercial underwriting processes, policies and procedures. The position will analyze credit requests and be responsible to render a credit decision or a credit recommendation depending on credit approval authority responsibilities.

Job Duties

• Responsible for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business banking credit requests based on policies and procedures. Based on sound judgement and credit maturity, this may include decisioning responsibilities.
• Evaluate and ensure that the transaction is accurate, complete and compliant.
• Will perform detailed commercial analysis on both personal and business cash flow sources including personal and business tax returns and financial statements.
• Review Credit Reports and interpret the data along with the analysis of key lending ratios to determine capacity, credit utilization and Loan to Value.
• Effectively address and resolve complaints and issues raised by staff and business partners.
• Will be responsible for using their underwriting experience and credit acumen to coach and educate others. Will be asked to participate in banker and branch training, and will be used to coach and mentor less experienced analysts.
• Responsible for gathering information and perform analysis as requested to prepare reports.
• Make recommendations and assist with updating products, policies and procedures pertaining to Business Banking Underwriting.
• Will perform special projects as assigned.

Education, Job Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Working knowledge of business finance or accounting is required.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize to meet customer and department timelines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Outstanding presentation skills.
• Team player.
