Sr Histotechnologist

As the senior histotechnologist, you will support activities as directed by the department supervisor. You will lead by example and positively influence your department. You will work alongside other laboratory professionals who process patient specimens for diagnostic review by pathologists. You will support departmental operations to maintain quality and ensure regulatory and accrediting agency requirements are being met. You will collaborate with members of the laboratory team to meet the needs of patients and customers. You will participate in the evaluation of new instrumentation to ensure the lab is utilizing the best available technology.

• Associate Degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience in accordance with CLIA standards.

• 3 years of Histology experience with progressive responsibility.

• Requires ASCP (or equivalent) certification upon hire or obtained within six months of the hire date.

• Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing.
• Requires the ability to effectively read, write, and speak in English, including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Requires excellent time management and customer service skills.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Requires creative, analytical, and independent thinking.
• Must have the ability to coordinate personnel in a manner conducive to successful planning, implementing, and controlling operations.
• Must be approachable, people-oriented, and a good listener to maintain high morale.
• Must be a change agent able to support and maintain policies and processes.
• Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism and enthusiasm.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to perform laboratory activities in the anatomic pathology department.
