Bus Driver/Utility Person 6 hrs/2 hrs - 10 months 6:15 am 4 pm
Qualifications:
- Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed below.
- Drive a school bus safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip safety inspections; report mechanical malfunctions as required.
- Learn and apply policies and procedures related to student discipline on buses.
- Maintain a safe discipline level among passengers.
- Observe legal and defensive driving practices.
- Learn and follow designated routes.
- Maintain bus in clean and proper working condition.
- Administer first aid.
- Maintain routine records.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Communicate effectively with others.
- Meet schedules and time lines.
- Operate a two-way radio.
- Plan and organize work.
- Observe health and safety regulations.
- Perform moderately to heavy manual activities.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, the public and maintain a positive team attitude.
- Valid first aid and CPR certificate issued by an authorized agency.
- Valid California Class A or B driver's license with appropriate passenger and air brake endorsements.
- Valid School Bus Certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol.
- Valid Medical Examiners Certificate for commercial drivers.
