Pay: $27-28/hour + Commission potential up to $10,000 annually
Are you a compliance-minded professional who thrives on accuracy, organization, and making a real impact? We're looking for a Compliance Specialist who can keep up with the details — from processing income certifications and verifying assets to staying current on HUD and IRS regulations. If you're a strong communicator who can juggle resident relations, reporting deadlines, and cross-team collaboration without missing a beat, this role was made for you.
Who We Are:

Our 200+ team members are passionate about delivering exceptional living experiences—and we’re looking for someone like you to help us continue that legacy.
What You’ll Love About This Role:
- Competitive pay with growth potential
- Commission Structure: $100 per lease/renewal over 6 months; $50 per lease/renewal under 6 months
- On-site housing discount starting at 30% (and growing with tenure)
- Generous PTO and up to 15 paid holidays
- 401(k) with company match
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Company-paid life insurance
- Health Savings Account with company match
- Flexible Spending Account
- Ongoing training and career development
What You'll Do:
- Work closely with the Property Manager to ensure full program compliance, including reviewing activity reports, conducting property audits, and maintaining current knowledge of HUD, IRS, Bond, and Tax Credit requirements
- Obtain and review applications from new residents and annual re-certifications, collecting any missing information and coordinating with property staff as needed
- Process all income and asset verification forms, accurately calculate annual income, complete Tenant Income Certifications, and submit paperwork to the Compliance Department for approval
- Report move-in, move-out, and transfer information to appropriate parties and review weekly and monthly compliance reports for accurate reporting
- Forecast month-end and quarterly compliance numbers and communicate property bond status with on-site staff
- Contact residents, employers, and financial institutions via phone, email, letters, and in person to build rapport and ensure timely receipt of required information
- Utilize Yardi and IQ platforms for property management, resident communications, reporting, and leasing support
- Stay informed on LIHTC programs and industry updates through resources such as LinkedIn and the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation
- Manage property social media platforms, support resident events, and assist with outreach marketing efforts to promote community engagement and property visibility
- Assist in training new bond compliance managers and staff
- Perform general clerical duties, maintain strict confidentiality of all records and resident files, and provide overall administrative and operational support
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
What you’ll need:
- 2+ years previous compliance experience with LITHC/Tax credit at properties of 200+ units.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Knowledge of real estate management principles and techniques.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Knowledge of HUD and IRS policies and regulations, as well as Bond and Tax Credit requirements.
Additional Details:
