Production Technician

Position Objective

The Production Technician is responsible for maintaining and optimizing production equipment, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, and adhering to TPM principles to minimize downtime and enhance productivity. This position entails the performance and documentation of maintenance on production and miscellaneous equipment, including both preventive and corrective actions. Mechanical, electrical, and power tools are employed for the performance of these tasks.

Principal Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize production disruptions.
• TPM Implementation: Actively participate in TPM activities, including equipment cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to maintain equipment reliability.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair history.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to support production goals and initiatives.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree a plus

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a production or maintenance role, preferably in a TPM environment.

Skills: Strong mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills, familiarity with TPM principles, and proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment. Requires the ability to document maintenance activities in conformance with good manufacturing procedures. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction. Required to read, write and speak English with good command of the language, follow verbal and written instructions and use simple math. Basic computer skills including at minimum, be adept in use of MS Office, internet, and electronic mail.
