Position Summary Registered Dietitian at Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents , located in New Kent, Virginia , provides comprehensive medical, behavioral, rehabilitative, and educational services for children and adolescents ages 2 through 22 who are challenged by co‑occurring medical and behavioral diagnoses. Visit us online at: Responsibilities The Registered Dietitian initiates and completes nutritional screening and assessments of all assigned patients admitted to the hospital; determines appropriateness of tube feeding or diet orders and provides recommendations to the medical staff; interprets and adjusts diet orders for kitchen staff; provides nutritional education and counseling to patients and families; provides services to residential units on a consult basis; participates in discharge planning for patients with specific nutritional concerns. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Food & Nutrition required. Registered Dietitian license required. Experience working with children and adolescents experiencing behavior dysfunction secondary to brain injury, autism, and other developmental disabilities, chronic medical disorders, and other severe and chronic impairments, and their caregivers is preferred.
