Senior Underwriting Consultant

Seeking a highly experienced Senior Underwriting Consultant for a part-time, fully remote position, responsible for independently evaluating complex life insurance cases, mentoring junior underwriters, and balancing risk assessment with customer experience in the independent/BGA marketplace. Key Responsibilities Underwrite complex individual life insurance cases with face amounts typically above $5M Analyze medical, financial, and non-medical information to make timely underwriting decisions Provide mentorship and second signature support to junior underwriters while collaborating with internal sales teams Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 8 years of life insurance underwriting experience Proven ability to underwrite large and complex cases, including impaired risks Experience in the independent agent/brokerage (BGA) distribution channel Demonstrated decision-making authority on higher face amounts and complex risk profiles
