CLINIC NURSE PRACTITIONER

Family Nurse PractitionerThis is professional work which involves the identification and treatment of patients in a clinical and occasional surgical environment for Mississippi Sports Medicine's pain team. In accordance with the Mississippi Board of Nursing approved protocol, the Nurse Practitioner may assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate responses to treatment. Additionally, the Nurse Practitioner provides education and counseling to facilitate disease prevention measures as well as health promotion.Experience/Educational Requirements:Licensure, Certification and/or Registration:Must be certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AACC) and/or the American Nursing Credentialing Center (AANP).One (1) year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.Experience in Orthopaedics and/or Operating Room preferred.Must be currently certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.Documentation Required:Applicant must provide copies of his/her valid nurse license, certification by AACC and/or AANP, and Mississippi State Board of Nursing certification as a Nurse Practitioner.Essential Functions:Assessment and treatment of pain patientsAbility to perform diagnostic treatmentsClinic operations with occasional surgical exposure, mainly for breadth of knowledgeObtains histories, performs physical examinations; formulates diagnosis and plan of treatment; and orders and interprets diagnostic studiesPrescribes medications and therapeutic treatmentsProvides plan for follow-upAssess patient's health needsCollaborate with consulting physician in a team settingAbility to work independently for the clinic within scope of practiceQualificationsBehaviors:Required: Team Player: Works well as a member of a groupLoyal: Shows firm and constant support to a causeDetail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done wellDedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrityMotivations:Preferred: Self-Starter: Inspired to perform without outside helpGoal Completion: Inspired to perform well by the completion of tasksAbility to Make an Impact: Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organizationEducation:Required: Masters or better in Nursing.Preferred: Associates or better in Nursing or related field.
