Job Title: MES Infrastructure Support Engineer

Location: Minnetonka, Minnesota (Onsite)

Summary: The MES Infrastructure Support Engineer will provide L2/L3 operational support for our global Manufacturing Execution System (MES) infrastructure across various manufacturing sites. This role is critical in ensuring the availability, performance, patching, backup/restore, and disaster recovery of the MES systems while adhering to IT/OT constraints. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Provide L2/L3 support for MES infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Manage patching, backup/restore processes, and disaster recovery plans for MES systems.
• Administer Windows and Linux servers, including virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Oversee storage and backup operations, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Support basic database operations for MES backends, primarily using SQL.
• Implement scripting and automation solutions using PowerShell and Bash to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage configuration and patch management processes to maintain system security and performance.
• Ensure core IT/OT services (Active Directory, DNS, NTP, certificates) are functioning optimally.
• Follow incident, change, and problem management practices to resolve issues effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
• Document processes, incidents, and solutions rigorously to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Mandatory Skills:

• Proven experience in infrastructure support, specifically within MES environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with storage and backup operations and monitoring.
• Basic database support skills, particularly with SQL.
• Proficient in scripting and automation (PowerShell/Bash).
• Understanding of configuration and patch management practices.
• Knowledge of core IT/OT services (AD/DNS/NTP, certificates) and system hardening techniques.
• Experience with incident, change, and problem management practices.

• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly with shop floor and central teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure support, with a focus on MES systems.
• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, VMware) are a plus.

The pay range for this role is $90,000- $100,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
