About the Hospital Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England. It is a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting‑edge treatment to its patients, and it hosts the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast as well as the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most advanced medical simulation training centers in the world. Medical‑Neuro ICU The Medical‑Neuro ICU is a 16‑bed adult inpatient unit that cares for critically ill medical and neuro‑science patients. The unit treats a wide range of complex, highly acute medical/neuro conditions using advanced technologies and devices such as CRRT, intracranial‑pressure monitoring, brain tissue oxygenation, and hemodynamic monitoring. Patient populations include respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver injury/failure, kidney injury/failure, sepsis, drug/alcohol withdrawal, stroke, head/spinal‑cord trauma, and brain hemorrhage. Nurses in this specialty must provide a family‑centered approach and work closely with the Critical Care Pulmonologist, Neuro‑intensivist, Physician Assistants, and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to deliver the highest quality care. Job Summary As a critical‑care RN, you will bring your expertise to the bedside, supporting a team‑based approach that aligns with Hartford HealthCare’s values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity, and Caring. Your skill set will enable you to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care to our most vulnerable patients. Qualifications Current Connecticut RN License. Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required). BLS certification by the American Heart Association, ACLS certification, and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to hire. Minimum one year of Acute Care RN experience strongly preferred. In exceptional circumstances, experienced ASN/ADN nurses currently pursuing a BSN or MSN may be considered.
