TEACHER - KINDERGARTEN ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Teaches district approved curriculum Creates a safe and respectful classroom environment for all learners Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional technology to engage all learners Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all lessons and units Uses a variety of formative and summative assessments Takes a trauma-sensitive approach when working with students Communicates professionally to students, parents/guardians, and colleagues Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations Other duties as assigned by building administrator QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university required Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with ZG or ZE or ZC or ZO endorsement(s) Must be highly qualified as defined by the Michigan State Dept. of Education Ability to build meaningful, caring relationships with students High degree of technology skills Willingness to learn the tenants of Positive Behavior and Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Desire to collaborate with peers and work as a team PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently walking and standing. In addition, the employee may frequently bend or twist at the neck and back. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and close vision such as to read typewritten material. The employee may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds such as student equipment and wheelchairs. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Position starts with the 2026-2027 school year.
