Engineering ManagerAs an Engineering Manager, you will oversee the delivery and support of engineering deliverables with high quality and on time, working closely with product management, customer success, field and other key stakeholders. You will be responsible for hiring and career development of your direct reports. As a key member of the Engineering leadership team, you will jointly work to define and improve processes, culture and best practices to align with Alluxio's rapid growth.Responsibilities:Build best in class scalable distributed system to help fulfill the vision "Cloud Data Orchestration"Hands-on design and coding at least 25% of the timeLead, guide and evaluate the work of Engineering direct-reportsActively develop and grow talent through effective mentoring and technical assignmentsDevelop and refine best practices and processes to guide teams, lead by exampleRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field7+ years of experience as a strong hands-on engineer3+ years of experience leading or managing a team of engineersExperience working with two or more from the following is a must: distributed and parallel systems, distributed storage systems, architecting large scale software systems, and/or security software development.Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, or Go.Ability and desire to work in a fast paced, collaborative and iterative programming environmentStrong technical and conversational English language skills to be able to work with global teams and customers.
