About the Opportunity

On Target Staffing is seeking a professional, personable, and guest-focused Bell/Door Attendant for a luxury hotel known for exceptional hospitality and personalized guest service.

As a Bell/Door Attendant, you will be one of the first and last points of contact for hotel guests. Your warm welcome, attention to detail, and commitment to outstanding service will help create a memorable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome arriving and departing guests with a warm, professional, and hospitable attitude.
• Open vehicle doors and hotel entrance doors for guests.
• Maintain an orderly hotel entrance and help manage driveway traffic to ensure safe, convenient passenger and luggage loading and unloading.
• Assist guests with obtaining taxis, confirming destinations, and providing estimated travel times.
• Respond promptly to guest questions about hotel amenities, services, parking procedures, and nearby attractions.
• Assist with luggage, packages, and deliveries, including labeling, tagging, and placing items on baggage carts or in designated secure areas.
• Answer the entrance telephone and provide accurate information to guests and hotel colleagues.
• Communicate with housekeeping and other hotel departments to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming entrance.
• Develop knowledge of Chicago's surrounding area and provide clear directions to nearby attractions and points of interest.
• Assist with operating the hotel house car when needed and authorized.
• Remain attentive, professional, and calm during busy periods.
• Follow hotel policies, procedures, and guest service standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality, hotel, concierge, bell service, valet, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal communication skills in English to assist guests and provide clear directions and information.
• Professional demeanor and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also handling responsibilities independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, tact, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read luggage tags, complete claim tickets, and accurately record guest information.
• Willingness and ability to learn hotel procedures, local attractions, and service standards.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Must have open availability for day, evening, and overnight shifts. Weekend availability is required.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, guest-facing position that requires:

• Standing at the hotel entrance for extended periods.
• Frequent bending and lifting or carrying guest luggage, packages, and hotel deliveries.
• Opening and closing vehicle and entrance doors.
• Responding promptly to guest requests and communications by telephone, radio, or other messaging equipment.
• Maintaining a professional and attentive presence while interacting with guests throughout the shift.

Compensation and Employment

• Hourly Pay: $19.50 per hour, plus tips.
• Schedule: Hotel operations run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Flexible availability across day, evening, and overnight shifts is required, including weekends.
