Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)This is a float pool position requiring flexibility to work at multiple locations within the region. The Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role demands a compassionate approach and the ability to manage a variety of patient situations effectively.Shift DetailsShift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)Shift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekUnit InformationAs a Telemetry Registered Nurse, you will function within the following units:Telemetry Unit Number of Beds: 31Patient Ratios: 1 to 4Common Patient Diagnoses: High acuity patients, including pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath lab patients, respiratory distress, CHF, and COPD.Combo of Telemetry, Medsurg, and DOU Unit Number of Beds: 50Patient Ratios: 1 to 5 for Medsurg, 1 to 4 for Telemetry, 1 to 3 for DOUCommon Patient Diagnoses: Post-surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac patients.ResponsibilitiesProvide nursing care in accordance with established protocols and patient care plans.Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry readings.Administer IV medications and drips (non-titrating) as required.Participate in team collaboration to ensure effective patient management.Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including hospitalists or intensivists available for consultation.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a telemetry setting.Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.Experience with drips; experience with chest tubes is preferred.Ability to read telemetry strips is essential.Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to handle complex patient care situations.Commitment to compassionate care and positive patient interaction.Additional InformationWeekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule.Holidays: One major holiday and one minor holiday per year.Uniform Scrub Color: Navy.Equipment: Utilize Phillips telemetry monitors; monitor tech is available for assistance.Orientation: Orientation includes one shift on the home unit and additional shifts in other units.Join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients with your expertise and compassion.
