A Supplier Quality Engineer II collaborates with a diverse network of suppliers to resolve quality challenges affecting production. This role involves working closely with the production team to promptly address issues and drive improvements in component quality. The engineer will play a key role in establishing quality standards for suppliers, enhancing quality system programs, and partnering with cross-functional teams to execute qualification projects. Additionally, they will support the new development team in seamlessly transitioning parts from design to production. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services. Qualifies suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness. Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur. Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met. Evaluates suppliers' internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation. Some individuals may have responsibilities that include Pre-Market Supplier Quality and duties may include: Provides Pre-Market Quality Engineering support to New Product Development (NPD) working in partnership with the Component Engineering and Post-Market Supplier Quality Teams, to deliver quality parts, materials, and services, prevent defects, and allow Medtronic to provide customers with the highest quality and reliable products. Provides technical guidance and quality compliance for Supplier Quality engagement throughout the NPD lifecycle on newly qualified parts from NPD and implementing strategies for driving product quality and continuous improvement, ensuring purchased products and components are manufactured and qualified in accordance to applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements. Collaborates with Component Engineers to develop and deliver the Product Acceptance Sampling Strategy, Approved Supplier List coordination, Supplier Owned Quality deployment, and Control Plans for new products. Define Receiving Inspection requirements as required and associated test method validation for all internal Medtronic Test Methods. Must Have: Minimum Requirements To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile. Requires a bachelors degree A minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 0 years of experience Nice to Have Root cause analysis methodology Risk Management or CAPA experience Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills. Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written. Computer skills in MS Office and ERP systems desirable. Ability to interface with internal customers, suppliers and external regulatory agencies For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others). The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
