Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description Job Description Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a fleet of construction equipment and dump trucks used in grading and public works projects. This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical skills, problem-solving ability, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, including: Excavators, loaders, graders, compactors Dump trucks and trailers Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, hydraulics, etc.) Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Maintain service records and logs for all equipment Coordinate with operations team to prioritize repairs Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently Perform field service repairs when needed Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Experience working on construction equipment and dump trucks Ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus) Welding and fabrication experience is a plus \nCompany Description Company Description
