Clinical Social Worker

Primary Function The Clinical Social Worker provides social work services to the hospital’s patients and their families to address psychosocial and environmental factors that impact health and recovery. As a member of the interdisciplinary health‑care team, the Social Worker delivers direct clinical services, including assessment, brief intervention, and coordination of services. The role also involves developing a network of community agencies to facilitate referrals and assisting in the development and implementation of department policies, programs, and procedures. Qualifications and Specifications Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field Experience in a health‑care setting or hospital strongly preferred RI Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) RI Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker strongly preferred LCSWs must obtain LICSW within three years of hire Americans with Disabilities Act Statement External and internal applicants, as well as incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job‑specific functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by the organization on a case‑by‑case basis.
