PCU RN Requirements
- Active Virginia RN License
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
- Current AHA BLS
- Current AHA ACLS
- Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment
As a PCU RN with First Choice Nurses, you will provide high-quality patient care within acute-care hospital environments. Responsibilities may include:
- Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions
- Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status
- Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments
- Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records
- Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards
- Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans
- Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments
