Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s rehabilitation goals, emphasizing skills recovery and mobility enhancement.
  • Conducting thorough assessments and ongoing evaluations of patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Utilizing advanced manual therapy techniques and exercise protocols to aid in the recovery process and to maximize patient outcomes.
  • Engaging patients with hands-on therapy strategies ranging from guided exercises to mobility training, while providing education on injury prevention and maintenance.
  • Advocating for patients' needs and empowering them to take an active role in their treatment programs, motivating them to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
  • Documenting all treatment sessions and outcomes accurately using EMR software, particularly Web PT, to ensure comprehensive patient records.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to provide holistic care tailored to each patient.
  • Staying informed on the latest developments in physical therapy practices and implementing evidence-based interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work primarily with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders. Our patient population includes individuals of all ages striving to regain mobility and strength, from athletic participants to post-operative recovery cases, and those seeking to improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
  • Valid and active Physical Therapist license in New York State, with a clean record free from sanctions or board proceedings.
  • Exceptional skills in various manual therapy modalities and patient-centered exercise program design.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical record systems, particularly Web PT, to manage patient documentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of current physical therapy practices supported by clinical research.

Preferred Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy, preferably within an outpatient setting.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective rehabilitation programs for diverse patient needs.
  • Experience with specialized modalities such as dry needling or Kinesio taping is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to USD 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
