Cook Position at McDowell Center for Children

McDowell Center for Children (a UHS facility): McDowell Center is a 28-bed residential treatment facility located in Dyersburg, Tennessee, for adolescent males experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Our staff is made up of licensed therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors who offer 24-hour support for our patients. We provide young men with the skills they need to improve their thinking patterns, make healthier choices, and create new futures with improved outlooks and outcomes.

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals for patients in compliance with federal, state, and local dietary regulations, as well as the facility's policies. This role involves working with dietitians and nursing staff to meet individual dietary requirements, maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring timely, high-quality meal services according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets.

Job Duties:

• Prepare hot and cold menu items according to standardized recipes and patient diet orders.
• Monitor and log food temperatures, ensure proper storage, and follow infection control protocols.
• Keep cooking equipment, workstations, and storage areas clean, organized, and in good repair.
• Assist with daily and monthly inventory checks, order supplies, and minimize food waste.

Qualifications Requirements:
