Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Role: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Emergency Room, responsible for providing nursing care to patients of various ages under RN supervision. Key Responsibilities Administer medications and infusion therapy. Perform physical and psychosocial re‑assessments. Participate in patient care, assessments, care planning, and evaluations. Collaborate with the healthcare team, including attending multidisciplinary conferences. Delegate tasks to nursing attendants and implement direct patient care and treatments. Evaluate intervention effectiveness and document actions. Communicate effectively with team members, physicians, patients, and families using SBAR format. Reinforce patient education, promoting independence and understanding of conditions and self‑care. Ensure organized, timely, safe, and cost‑effective nursing care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and incorporate evidence‑based practices. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent, qualified for NCLEX-PN. Minimum of one year of experience or completion of Nurse Residency. Valid Florida LPN license and BLS certification. NIH Stroke Scale certification within six months; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.
