Every Cooper-Bessemer, AJAX, and Superior engine in the field started on a machinist's table — and in Marshall, Texas, that table is yours.As a Machinist II, you'll turn blueprints into precision parts that get legendary compression equipment back in the field, faster. If you take pride in tight tolerances, clean work, and a job done right the first time, we want to put you on the machine.What You'll DoMachine one-off parts and tooling to spec on manual lathes, mills, and drills.Read blueprints, drawings, and job cards to nail dimensions, tolerances, and finish requirements.Repair and restore parts that keep Cooper's natural gas compression fleet running.Set up and independently run assigned machines, including holding fixtures, cutting tools, and offsets.Perform dimensional layout and inspection to confirm every part conforms to print.Deburr, stamp, and finish parts to the standard our customers expect.Keep your work area safe and clean — chips swept, oil disposed of, PPE on, every shift.Who You AreHigh school diploma or GED required.2–5 years of manual machining experience — oil & gas, power, heavy equipment, or automation & controls background preferred.Skilled with precision measuring tools: dial and Vernier calipers, ID mics, depth mics, ball mics.Comfortable reading complex drawings and applying trade math on the shop floor.Able to lift 40+ lbs and handle a physically active shift — standing, bending, kneeling.Certified (or ready to certify) on forklift, pallet jack, and crane operation.Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as production demands.Safety-focused, dependable, and a strong teammate who takes ownership of the outcome.PreferredVo-Tech certificate in machining or a related trade.Working knowledge of oilfield assemblies.Why Join CooperBenefits start day one — no waiting period on most plans.Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.Company-paid life, AD&D, short-term, and long-term disability.Voluntary life, AD&D, and long-term disability buy-up plans.Voluntary accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity plans.401(k) with up to 5% company match — 100% vested on day one.Maternity and parental leave, Arc Fertility Benefits, and an Employee Assistance Program for mental health support.About Cooper Machinery ServicesCooper Machinery Services provides natural gas compression equipment and services to customers globally in the Oil & Gas, Power, Transportation, and Marine sectors.
