Registered Nurse (RN) Post Acute PRN

Job Overview Registered Nurse (RN), Post Acute – PRN, nights shift (3x12h per 6-week period, 7p‑7a, 1 weekend per 6 weeks). The role is at Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas, a 157‑bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission. Responsibilities Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with scope and standards of practice. Performs plan‑of‑care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care. Documents patient care provided. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support. Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and delivers education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient. Qualifications Current Tennessee RN license or compact state RN license with Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire. Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred). AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. One year of previous Nursing experience preferred.
