PRN Admissions Mental Health Technician

Responsibilities Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking a PRN Admissions Mental Health Technician to join our team. The PRN Admissions Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Director of Admissions. The Admissions Mental Health Technician is responsible for the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and activities of daily living.

Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred Knowledge of psychiatric group processes. therapeutic relationship processes, age-specific growth and development, behavioral management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors Assist with admissions, discharge and transfer procedure Orient new patients to Fairmount Behavioral Health Intervene with patients during critical incidents, such as escalation, elopement, and suicidal behavior Actively engage with patient population Observe patient behavior and document observations according to hospital policies Additional responsibilities as assigned
