Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Radiology

Description

This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide essential diagnostic imaging services within the Medical Practice industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting a wide range of diagnostic imaging studies, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds, to support accurate patient diagnosis and treatment planning. You will collaborate closely with referring physicians and healthcare teams to deliver timely, high-quality radiology services that directly impact patient care and clinical outcomes.

 

Responsibilities

• Interpret diagnostic imaging studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds
• Provide accurate and timely radiology reports to referring physicians
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment
• Ensure compliance with radiology protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Review patient histories and clinical data to inform imaging interpretations
• Consult with physicians on imaging findings and recommended follow-up procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all imaging studies and reports
• Participate in quality assurance and peer review activities
• Stay current with advances in radiology technology and diagnostic techniques
• Provide guidance and support to radiology technologists and support staff
• Adhere to infection control and radiation safety guidelines
• Communicate effectively with patients when necessary regarding imaging procedures

Requirements

• MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility in Radiology
• Valid medical license in good standing
• Associate-level experience in diagnostic radiology
• Proficiency in interpreting X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site clinical environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently
• Familiarity with radiology information systems and PACS
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with radiology best practices

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

No call requirement

Must be able to read screenings, diagnostics, MRIs, etc.

Procedures: Tomosynthesis, image-guided biopsies (US, MRI, stereotactic, etc.), and localization procedures

PACS: Sectra

Dictation: Powerscribe

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
