Senior Manager Interpreter Services - Linguistic Services

This role has primary management and leadership responsibility for Linguistic Services across Swedish Health Services system, including Swedish Edmonds. Plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of linguistic services, including interpreter and translation services, for LEP and sensory-impaired patients, family and staff to ensure effective language access, and linguistically and culturally competent care across the SHS organization. Provides operational oversight for staff and contracted individuals, agencies and services including with state agencies to provide services and maximize benefits. Fosters partnerships throughout the organization to ensure access to interpretation and translation services in a variety of modalities including in-person, phone and video. Initiates and actively participates in system-wide activities that promote organizational cultural competence. Identifies and addresses patient communication issues and barriers to service, through collaboration with organizational and community resources. Researches and administers grant opportunities and projects to achieve patient language access goals, regulatory compliance and cultural competency.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Services, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or International/Area Studies or related field preferred.
• 7 years of management experience in patient care or social services
• 5 years of administrative or operational leadership experience
• 3 years recent experience in a leadership role
• Experience working in interpreter/translation service delivery
• Experience managing/coaching diverse staff
• Experience in managing a diverse workforce and in creating a departmental environment that respects the cultural, economic, ethnic, and lifestyle diversity of staff and patients
• Experience in providing leadership in ongoing evaluation and implementation of new technologies to support optimal, efficient service
• Experience in planning, implementing and managing change processes and initiatives within an organization
• Demonstrated experience working well under pressure to manage stressful situations
• Demonstrated experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse patient, staff and community groups, including those with sensory loss

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Business, Hospital Administration, Sociology, or related field
• Contract negotiation and management experience
• Previous leadership experience in a healthcare organization or interpreter services agency business

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
