We are looking for a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join a logistics-focused team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience applying customer payments, maintaining accurate accounts receivable records, and supporting daily cash activity with precision. The position begins onsite for training and later offers the possibility of a hybrid schedule based on business needs and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Apply incoming customer payments accurately and in a timely manner to maintain current and reliable accounts receivable records.

• Post cash transactions and reconcile payment activity to ensure account balances reflect completed receipts.

• Support the transportation team by managing payment-related workflows tied to customer billing and collection activity.

• Review remittance details, investigate payment discrepancies, and resolve unapplied or misapplied cash items.

• Use platforms such as Bill Trust and Workday to process payment information and document cash application activity.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address account questions, clarify payment issues, and improve accuracy in cash posting.

• Monitor daily payment volumes and maintain organized records that support audit readiness and reporting needs.

• Prior experience in cash applications, cash posting, or accounts receivable operations is required.

• Demonstrated ability to post payments accurately while managing a high level of attention to detail.

• Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes and payment reconciliation practices.

• Experience handling cash payments and researching variances or allocation issues.

• Familiarity with BillTrust, Workday, or similar financial systems is preferred.

• Background in the logistics or transportation industry is helpful but not mandatory.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in an onsite environment during the training period.
