Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Purpose Statement: Recovery in Motion is a dedicated team of motivated individuals who work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide effective substance use disorder treatment services.
Key Result Areas:
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual therapy, group therapy, case management, crisis intervention that addresses the goals established on the treatment plan
- Document services provided in a weekly note, individual note, and/or information note. Documentation will be completed according to Recovery in Motion polices and procedures and standards established by governing bodies
- Document case activity notes and important information
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans that meet the individual needs of the client. Treatment plans will be completed in accordance with Recovery in Motion polices and procedures and standards established by governing bodies
- Complete and document assessments in accordance with Recovery in Motion polices and procedures and standards established by governing bodies
- Participate in weekly case staffing meetings and supervision meetings
- Provide court, Department of Corrections, and other referral sources with progress reports as requested
- Work cooperatively with outside agencies
- Discharge duties in accordance with contracts, licensure standards, and Recovery in Motion's policies and procedures
- Exhibits knowledge of core competencies in relation to working with co-occurring disorders through continuing education and implementing skills into aspects of treatment
- All other duties, as assigned
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be licensed by the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor or have a temporary permit
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent to satisfy BBHT
- Must know and understand the implications of 245G, sections 245A.65, 626.557, and 626.5572, and chapter 260E
- CPR certification or obtain within 30-days
- Complete a background study
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other computer skills
- Familiar with Medication for Opioid Use Disorders (MOUD)
- Motivational Interviewing Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Familiar with Procentive, Electronic Health Record System
