Personal Care Aide

CNA / PCA

Description: Provides the highest quality personal care services to clients giving them dignity, respect, and as much independence as possible.

Detail: Following the tasks assigned on the Service Plan, a personal care aide may render hands-on personal care services to clients in their residence under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse. Direct supervision may be provided by a registered nurse.

Duties: may include: Assisting clients with personal hygiene, including shower, tub or bed baths, oral care, hair and skin care, toileting, assisting clients in and out of bed, ambulation,medication reminders, meal preparation and feeding, measuring and recording fluid intake and output, Additional duties may include companion type services.


Part time positions. All days of the week and hours potential. Non-exempt.


Must have reliable transportation and working phone. Genuinely concerned about helping people. High moral, standards of honesty and integrity. Satisfactorily complete Comfort Keepers training and orientation program. Applicant must be bondable and meet or exceed minimum qualifications for each of the following background checks: Criminal background investigation, Motor Vehicle Driving Record and business and personal references. Must provide approval to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.

Must hold one of the following:

A. Certificate of completion from an approved nurse aide training program and be registered by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a certified aide.

B. A certificate of completion from a nurse aide training program approved by the Virginia Department of education or the Virginia Community college System or the Virginia Department of Health Professions

C. A certificate of completion from a home health aide training program approved by the Department of Health.
