Surgical TechnologistWe are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at a Level 1 academic medical center. The ideal candidate will be proficient in orthopedic, neurological, vascular, trauma, and general surgical procedures, and scrubbing skills are considered an advantage.Key responsibilities include:Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations.Handle and organize surgical instruments and supplies.Participate in the orientation and training of new staff.Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.Be available for potential holiday or weekend shifts based on a rotating schedule.Qualifications include:Must possess comprehensive knowledge and experience in multiple surgical specialties, including—but not limited to—orthopedics, neurology, vascular surgery, trauma, and general surgery.EPIC knowledge is required for patient information management.Current certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.Health and safety requirements include:COVID-19 vaccination is optional for submission but required for onboarding.Must provide documentation for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, and an annual negative PPD test.Annual TB questionnaire is necessary.Professional requirements include:Must complete UHS I-9 attestation and provide a valid Driver's License or State ID upon hiring.Background checks, including criminal, employment verification, and education validation, are mandatory.Completion of skills checklist, competency exams, and core competencies is required.This position will be performed in an active surgical environment with the necessary support to ensure high-quality patient care.
