Technical Accounting Manager

The Financial Reporting Manager will oversee the preparation and delivery of internal and external financial reporting, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements. This role will play a key part in managing the reporting process, supporting audits, and addressing technical accounting matters within a complex, asset-intensive environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a background in public accounting and/or energy-related industries. Key Responsibilities Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Oversee external reporting requirements, including SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), if applicable. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and industry-specific accounting standards. Lead the preparation of financial statement disclosures and footnotes, including complex areas such as asset retirement obligations (AROs), impairments, and revenue recognition. Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits. Perform and review technical accounting research and memos for complex transactions. Manage and improve financial reporting processes and internal controls, including SOX compliance if applicable. Partner with FP&A, Operations, and Accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performing team environment. Support implementation of new accounting standards and reporting systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required or strongly preferred. 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and/or industry experience. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements; SEC reporting experience preferred. Experience in the energy, utilities, or oil & gas sector preferred. Familiarity with industry-specific accounting concepts such as AROs, depletion/amortization, joint interest accounting, or similar. Experience with financial reporting and consolidation systems (e.g., Hyperion, OneStream, Workiva, or similar). Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, reporting-driven environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr SpectrumCareers
