Your Role as a COTA

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will provide personalized, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist, helping residents achieve meaningful functional goals and greater independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and address residents' individual goals, needs, and functional limitations.

• Provide personalized occupational therapy interventions designed to improve functional performance and independence.

• Implement individualized treatment plans using appropriate therapeutic techniques and interventions.

• Provide quality, evidence-based care tailored to each resident's abilities, needs, and goals.

• Motivate and encourage residents throughout treatment to maximize participation and functional outcomes.

• Support improvements in strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, mobility, and activities of daily living.

• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and safe participation in daily activities.

• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.

• Monitor residents' responses to treatment and communicate progress and concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and services.

• Promote resident dignity, safety, independence, and quality of life throughout the rehabilitation process.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.

What We're Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program.

• Current and valid COTA certification/licensure as required by the state of practice.

• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to resident care.

• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation services.
