Job Description We are looking for an experienced Machine Assembly Technician to join our assembly, panel build and wiring, machining and fabrication group for custom automated machinery and robotic equipment. We are seeking someone who takes the initiative, eagerly contributes to overall team performance, enjoys providing technical assistance, and continually seeks to improve processes and standards. Our manufacturing team works very closely with our design and engineering team, so a willingness to work in a collaborative space is crucial. Key Responsibilities Assemble custom automation/robotic equipment and machinery according to engineering drawings, CAD models, and assembly instructions. Install and integrate mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components. Perform machine alignment, setup, and precision adjustments. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation. Assist with machine wiring, sensor installation, and control system integration. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during assembly and testing. Conduct machine testing, debugging, and validation to ensure performance meets design requirements. Support machine startups, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and customer acceptance testing (SAT). Document build changes, issues, and corrective actions. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to resolve technical challenges. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. Travel occasionally to customer sites for installation, service, and commissioning activities. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in machine building, automation, manufacturing, maintenance, or related technical field. Strong mechanical assembly skills and experience using hand and power tools. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and assembly documentation. Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems and controls. Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems independently. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience building custom automated equipment or production machinery. Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and industrial automation systems. Experience with machine vision systems and sensors. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures. Forklift or rigging experience. Ability to travel domestically as required.
