Project Estimator - LNG Date: Jun 12, 2026 Location: Houston, TX, US Company: Black & Veatch Family of Companies The Project Estimator will support the preparation and review of lump-sum, unit-rate, and cost-plus estimates for a diverse client base across the full Process and Oil & Gas spectrum, with a focus on LNG, including both onshore and offshore installations. Key Responsibilities Responsible for conceptual estimating, cost analysis, and estimate coordination and consolidation. Reviews design scope and develops quantities. Prepares direct labor estimates, distributable or contractor indirect cost estimates. Assists the Lead Estimator with an independent assessment of an estimate's accuracy, summarizing all detailed man‑hours, material, construction, and home office costs. Performs productivity analysis of estimates. Prepares contingency, escalation, and reconciliations for estimates. Conducts comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects. Prepares management presentations and develops the estimate basis. Updates and maintains historical cost data. Reviews designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives when appropriate. Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with implementing improvements. Minimum Qualifications 8 or more years of relevant experience. Field and/or project experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (including criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search). Preferred Qualifications BS or MS graduate in Construction Management or related field (preferred but not required). Experience with complex estimating principles/procedures. Knowledge of cost principles/procedures. Strong mathematical skills. Understanding of project design scopes. Consulting skills. Analytical skills. Interpretation of specifications and contracts. Familiarity with typical construction drawings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft CoPilot 365. Good verbal and written communication skills. Work Environment / Physical Demands Typical office environment. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments. Average of 0-5% travel required.
