Phlebotomist Spanish Speaking

Location: Chicago, IL (with travel throughout the Chicago area and as far as Willowbrook, IL) | Schedule: Full-time contract, on-site, hours vary between 7AM to 8 PM depending on location | Compensation: Not specified Overview A healthcare services provider is seeking a Spanish speaking Phlebotomist to support patient specimen collection across the Chicago area. This is a contract position with a projected duration of 3 months and strong potential to convert to a permanent role, ideal for someone experienced in fast-paced clinical or lab environments who can travel locally to serve patients. What you'll do Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge samples according to established procedures Clearly and courteously explain venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures (e.g., urine or fecal) to patients Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles Fully understand and follow physicians' orders Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures, following protocols to maintain specimen integrity Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations Attend annual department trainings Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures, and update patient information Required qualifications Spanish speaking Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment (as required in some states) Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting Minimum of 1 year of experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite High School Diploma or GED Clean driving record and reliable transportation Availability to work between 7AM to 8 PM depending on location covered Compensation and benefits Mileage expenses paid Benefits are available Why this role This 3 months contract opportunity offers the potential to become a permanent position, with paid mileage and benefits available while working across the Chicago area. #J-18808-Ljbffr
