QA Compliance ManagerPosition Type Full Time Job Shift Day Category QA - Quality ControlDescriptionThis position will lead overall day-to-day quality systems practices and programs as well as the quality assurance process for products made by third parties. This includes leading the implementation and ongoing program management of corporate Quality Assurance policies for ingredients, packaging materials, finished products, and other related initiatives.Essential Job FunctionsResponsible for hosting auditors and inspectorsVerify proper analytical results for each recipe Analytical Samples (moisture, fat, salt, protein) – in-house testing and/or 3rd party lab testingPerform Sensory Evaluation and shredding testsManage Microbiological Testing Review Microbiological results (APC, Coliform, E. coli, Y/M)Review Microbiological results (Additional specific testing per customer request)Review Microbiological results (pathogen testing)Review sampling and testing proceduresQuality Hold Management Coordinate Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) InitiativesTracking, Identification of issues, retraining, and determining the final disposition of the productVerify Results & releases for outbound shipmentsServe as a backup to the QA Techs in their absence (Micro sampling etc.)Prepare for and Collaborate with Inspections Assist, Coordinate and/or Conduct Training for GMP, HACCP, and SQF itemsAssist in research and Preparation of 3rd party non-conformity reportsAssists in maintaining and managing all training manuals and certifications for the staffAssists in updating policies and documentationEmployee TrainingEnvironmental Serve as a backup to the Sanitation Manager for performing environmental testing and chemical titrationsCustomer Complaints Assists in managing Customer Complaint ProgramQualificationsExperience:College degree in Food Science Food, Chemistry, Biology, Nutrition, or Food manufacturing-related field. Master's degree desirable.5+ years in the food manufacturing industry especially in the QA and Food safety department. At least 2 years of QA management experience including overseeing QA laboratory.Demonstrated leadership in the areas of food safety, plant regulation and quality assurance.At least 3 years facilitating food safety/quality-related training events.Previous experience with Safe Quality Foods or SQF Expert Practitioner is a plus.HACCP Certification from a nationally or internationally recognized and accredited HACCP training firmThorough understanding of FDA and/or USDA-inspected manufacturing facilities including experience with FDA and/or USDA rules and regulationsKnowledge and Skills:Must have strong organizational, leadership, and communication skillsAble to foster solid relationships and build trust and credibility quickly at all levels within the organization while achieving key operating objectives.Ability to analyze processes for biological, chemical, and physical hazards with a thorough understanding of the science and support behind each type of hazard and each step within a production processAble to work with cross-functional departments within the organizationGood problem-solving and corrective action/resolution skillsStrong computer skills with experience using Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.A passionate, high-energy leader who can motivate the team and influence others to achieve results.Consumer complaint investigation and resolution
