Veterinary Technician

Position Details Position: Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant Status: Full-time Salary: Negotiable based on experience Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:30-5:30 with 45‑minute break; Thursday PM 1:00‑7:30 or Saturday AM 7:30‑1:30 alternately Benefits Highlights Competitive pay with 401(k) matching and Roth retirement plan Supplemental spending account (full‑time only) Tuition support program (full‑time only) Referral bonus program Health, dental and vision coverage with optional supplemental insurance (full‑time only) Up to three weeks paid parental leave (full‑time employees after one year of service) Sick time/Paid time off (PTO) Free or discounted lab work for all employee pets Pet discounts on services, products and food Employee assistance program Employee discount program State license and VTNE fee reimbursement Uniform allowance Professional development opportunities and continuing education allowance Quarterly team reward bonus program Access to Vetcor’s Techlife Facebook community Free or discounted doggie daycare and grooming services Six paid holidays (full‑time only) Workplace culture that values teamwork, communication and fun Responsibilities Triage patients and obtain histories, vitals and assessments Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments and procedures Provide nursing care from intake through discharge Prepare and administer medications, vaccines and treatments as directed Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy and sample collection Obtain high‑quality radiographs and maintain imaging standards Run in‑house laboratory tests: CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, cytology and fecal testing Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during procedures, maintaining accurate records Practice Fear‑Free and low‑stress handling techniques Educate clients on medications, discharge instructions, preventive care and treatment plans Maintain clean, stocked treatment and exam areas, following infection‑control protocols Collaborate with the team for efficient workflows and exceptional patient care Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities Qualifications Previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant Strong patient‑care and technical skills Excellent communication and client‑service abilities Positive attitude and team‑oriented mindset Commitment to continued learning and professional growth Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast‑paced environment Compassion for patients, clients and coworkers Desire to contribute to a positive hospital culture Legal Notice Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core values at Springboro Veterinary Clinic and Vetcor.
