Working across product, engineering, business development, logistics, and operations, the Maritime team develops, tests, deploys, and sustains the Anduril maritime capabilities in a challenging operational environment worldwide. As a leader in the Maritime Division, you must be a technical leader with the expertise to evaluate, qualify, manage, and advocate for an increasing number of sophisticated parallel pursuits. This role is crucial in ensuring that each initiative aligns with the company's strategic direction and receives the appropriate resourcing, balancing innovation with practical execution to drive the business line's success.ABOUT THE JOBYou will drive the Energy subsystem for a maritime autonomous vehicle, owning energy storage, distribution, regulation, and external charging from concept through production. Reporting to the Vehicle Systems Lead, you will maximize vehicle endurance and power reliability. You will set architecture for battery systems, power distribution, energy management, and charging interfaces. Ultra-long-range autonomous operation depends on this subsystem.Your spectrum of support will be diverse in nature and require you to leverage your technical expertise as well as leadership skills to set objectives, build cross-functional teams, and rapidly drive to completion. The ability to leverage your intuition and prior experience will be key in making sure the right design, analysis, and test steps are completed to ensure success. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience executing and successfully completing prior highly optimized multi-disciplinary projects.WHAT YOU'LL DOOwn the Energy subsystem architecture: storage, distribution, management, regulation, and external chargingDrive design and development of energy storage systems for ultra-long-range autonomous operationDrive power distribution and bus architecture across the vehicleOwn energy regulation systems ensuring safe and efficient power delivery to all subsystemsDesign external charging interfaces and solutions for rapid turnaroundManage energy budget and power allocation across all consuming subsystemsDefine electrical interfaces between energy subsystem and other vehicle systemsManage subsystem schedule and cost performance across prototype, LRIP, and FRP phasesProvide technical mentorship to engineers across energy disciplinesDrive design-for-manufacturability in coordination with ProductionRepresent the energy subsystem in technical and customer meetingsInterface with Vehicle Systems Lead and Chief Engineer on technical decisionsTravel up to 25% to test sites and customer locationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Engineering, or equivalent5+ years of experience in energy or power systems for marine, aerospace, or robotic systemsExperience taking energy or power systems through full product development cyclesDemonstrated experience with battery systems, power electronics, or energy managementExperience transitioning designs from prototype to productionAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with large-format battery systems (lithium-ion or equivalent)Working knowledge of high-voltage power systems in marine or defense applicationsExperience with power distribution for autonomous vehiclesFamiliarity with safety standards for energy storage systemsExperience in defense or maritime roboticsUS Salary Range$191,000—$253,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
