Senior Software Engineer - HPC Software Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our intel team. The HPC Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software for HPC (high performance computing) systems based upon documented requirements. Critical for an HPC software engineer is either a very strong math background or a very strong computer hardware background. One or both of these is required to understand the intricacies of the HPC architecture or the complex mathematical principles that underlie the software applications.

Responsibilities

The HPC software engineer works individually or as part of a team, reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements, documents test results, resolves software problem reports, and utilizes software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. The engineer provides input to the system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, the use of open‑source software or commercial or government off‑the‑shelf software, and requirements analysis from system level to individual components. Working knowledge of configuration management tools and web services implementation is required.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as an HPC software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Master’s degree in Math, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as an HPC software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Nine (9) years of experience as an HPC software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Salary Range: $190,000 to $240,000.
