Security Officer

Position Overview The Security Officer plays a key role in maintaining a safe healthcare environment. They are the first to greet visitors and provide customer service, handle confrontations, issue management and support. Tasks include safeguarding employees, patients, visitors, providers and property, responding to alarms, handling emergency requests, using de‑escalation tactics, and resolving safety incidents. Security Officers may need to manage agitated or aggressive patients or visitors. Compensation Compensation Range: $21.31 - $30.90 per hour, depending on experience. Education & Experience Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. OR 3 years of Security Officer experience in lieu of a diploma. Preferred: One year experience in a Security related field. License & Certification Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record if candidate will be driving; otherwise must have a valid NYS ID Card. Must meet requirements of the New York State Security Guard Licensing program and successfully pass the exam within 3 months of hire.
