About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical and post-operative care. - Must have experience working full-time on a post-operative unit. - Must have completed at least one travel contract. License: - Compact or State license required. Certifications: - ACLS required. - BLS required. - AWHONN Intermediate preferred for specific roles. Must-Have: - Post-operative experience required. - Experience in managing post-operative patients with various conditions, including pancreatitis, GI bleeds, bowel obstructions, wound infections, and others. - Familiarity with surgical procedures such as pancreatectomy, esophagectomy, and colectomy. - Experience with managing surgical drains, feeding tubes, and wound care preferred. Description: This is a Medical Surgical position specializing in post-operative care. The focus will be on adult and geriatric patients recovering from various surgeries. Candidates should have a strong background in post-operative care and acute care settings. Daily patient ratios may include up to 6 patients per nurse. This is an inpatient unit, and nurses may be expected to float as needed. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. There is an expectation to respond to emergency situations as directed by unit management. Applicants should have excellent critical thinking and communication skills. Willingness to follow safety and infection control protocols is essential. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to handle unpredictable workloads are required.
