Job Overview A law firm seeks a Data Protection, Privacy, and Security Associate to join its Washington, DC office. This role involves advising global organizations on privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance matters, with a focus on U.S. state and federal privacy laws and cross-border compliance initiatives. Duties Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis. Draft legal documents, including briefs and contracts. Manage complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies. Participate in high-level legal activities such as trials and negotiations. Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations. Engage in professional development opportunities. Contribute to firm programs and community involvement. Requirements 3+ years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or regulatory advisory work preferred. Exposure to global privacy programs or compliance frameworks is advantageous. In-house or regulatory experience is a plus. Experience with AmLaw 100 firms is desirable. Education JD degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Bar admission in District of Columbia or New York. Skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and good business judgment. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Strong organizational and management skills.
