Structural Biologist III

Ambry Genetics

Ambry Genetics seeks a Structural Biologist III to develop structural biology methods and tools that support clinical variant interpretation. The role combines research, software development, and team leadership across cross-functional projects in a clinical genomics setting.

Responsibilities

Interpret structure-function relationships to support variant analyses and clinical decision-making
Develop novel methods, protocols, and tools for structural modeling and molecular dynamics
Collaborate with statisticians and data scientists to validate algorithms and workflows
Lead the structural biology team and coordinate cross-functional efforts across bioinformatics and R&D
Write production-grade code following software development standards and maintain technical documentation

Requirements

PhD in computational biology, structural biology, biophysics, bioinformatics, or equivalent field
Minimum 5 years R&D experience in computational structural biology or related disciplines
At least 2 years post-doctoral or industrial experience in structural biology
2 years management or team leadership experience
Proficiency in Python, R, Perl, C/C++, Java, or SQL
Strong background in molecular dynamics, systems biology, and experimental techniques (X-ray, Cryo-EM)
Familiarity with bioinformatics and structural modeling software

Compensation: $120,000 - $170,000
