Physical Therapist OP - Outpatient Ortho / Sports

MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at Therapy - Olney! The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy; demonstrated use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches; customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds; and effective communication. The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to patients, including screening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, treatment re‑assessment and revision, patient/client re‑evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation in a variety of settings. The Physical Therapist participates in program planning and protocol development as requested and assists the team in meeting established goals. Primary Duties Provide evaluation services including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations. Document results and explain evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family, incorporating them in goal setting. Demonstrate proficiency in implementation of treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, patient presentation, and evolving health care environment. Consult with other healthcare professionals as indicated. Recognize and document changes in patient condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or medical/rehabilitation consultation. Complete appropriate discharge planning and follow‑up care. Accurately and timely document and charge for patient care activities, providing a clear picture of the patient’s course of care, including focused initial evaluation/plan of care that establishes baseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation. Demonstrate effective time management, meet productivity expectations, and manage an accurate schedule. Provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy. Take initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serve as a clinical instructor for students; assist with orientation and mentoring of inexperienced staff, students, volunteers, and technicians. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy. Licensed in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia as required. American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers and CPR certification.
