Position Overview

Announcement: Our organization is on the lookout for an Allergist/Immunologist to enhance our Division of Allergy and Immunology. This role is tailored for a physician specializing in immunology or inborn errors of immunity.
The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of 11 professionals, including 7 physicians and 4 advanced practice providers, across our main hospital and various satellite locations. We serve a diverse patient base in the East Valley, Southwest Valley, and Northwest Valley, reflecting the growing population of Phoenix, Arizona. Our practice is bustling, addressing a wide range of conditions from common allergies to intricate cases involving allergy and primary immunodeficiencies. Currently, two physicians lead our immunology initiatives, both in inpatient and outpatient settings, which include participation in specialized clinics such as the Immunohematology Multi-disciplinary Clinic and the 22q Multi-disciplinary Clinic. Adding a third immunology-focused physician will help us better serve the needs of patients in Phoenix and its neighboring areas.
Education plays a vital role in this position, as our clinic is involved in training rotating pediatric residents. Additionally, we have partnered with a renowned institution for a joint Allergy/Immunology fellowship, allowing physicians to work closely with fellows and engage in regular interactions with Allergists/Immunologists through Grand Rounds, Case Conferences, and Journal Clubs. Physicians will also hold academic faculty appointments through various medical schools.
Moreover, our clinic is dedicated to clinical and translational research in areas such as food allergies, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, and asthma. Candidates should have a keen interest in contributing to these research initiatives.

The staff physician will deliver patient care services and uphold our organization's mission of providing hope, healing, and exceptional healthcare for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care Services

  1) Deliver patient care services within the scope of clinical privileges, including but not limited to:
  a) Direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  b) Provide subspecialty consultations and follow-up care
  c) Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  d) Offer urgent/emergent care services as required
  2) Aim for optimal patient and family-centered care
  3) Contribute to the organization's patient satisfaction objectives and division-specific goals
  4) Adhere to divisional standards for patient safety and quality of care
  5) Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine or the latest experience-based approaches.

• Divisional Responsibilities

  1) Set and strive to meet annual goals and objectives for physicians (individual, division, hospital)
  2) Support the medical education initiatives of the Division, including but not limited to:
  a) Supervise trainees and allied health professionals in delivering inpatient and outpatient services when applicable
  b) Conduct teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees
  c) Engage in the education and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals assigned to the division
  d) Participate in postgraduate continuing education activities of the division
  3) Support the division's research efforts, including initiatives led by other members
  4) Foster programmatic growth within the division
  5) Assist with satellite operations of the division when appropriate.

  4) The following physical and mental skills are essential for fulfilling the responsibilities of this role:
  a) Ability to communicate via telephone, computer, or other communication devices
  b) Willingness to perform after-hours or night call duties as necessary
  c) Ability to maintain a regular work schedule.
